Donation Request:

The DKMS started in Germany in 1991 around one family's search for a donor. Dr. Peter Harf and Prof. Gerhard Ehninger founded DKMS in honour of Harf's wife Mechtild, who had sadly lost her battle with blood cancer. The worldwide search for donors is still as important as ever for all those needing a potentially lifesaving blood stem cell donation.

DKMS has grown to become the world's largest stem cell donor centre. More than 55,000 people have made a potentially lifesaving blood stem cell donation since 1991. Today, over 6 million potential donors have registered across five DKMS countries.

We work towards achieving our mission by raising awareness and empowering people to register as potential blood stem cell donors. We encourage people to take action in their communities, schools and companies. By working with volunteers and organisations throughout Germany, we aim to inspire and register more people as potential blood stem cell donors.

All it takes to go on to the German stem cell registry is a two minute cheek swab, sent to you when you register online at https://www.dkms.de/de/spender-werden

Our child got leukemia. We would appreciate if you send the DKMS a donation. Every euro is important in the fight against blood cancer.

Thank you very much.
